Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find a solution or alternative to improve the performance of the intersection on
Jalan Raya Kaliabang. The benefit of this research is as input to overcome the problems that exist at the intersection
of Jalan Raya Kaliabang. The research method is carried out by conducting a survey in the field to obtain primary
data and secondary data which is then processed using intersection management. Planning uses the 1997 Indonesian
Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) reference and uses the Excel 2016 program to process traffic data. Traffic data is
obtained from the enumeration of the number of vehicles in the field which is carried out in the form of vehicle data
tables and then the traffic behavior of the intersection can be analyzed. From the results of the analysis it can be
concluded that the intersection of Jalan Raya Kaliabang has a value of Degree of Saturation (DS) = 0.91. Based on
the results of this study, the level of service at the Kaliabang Highway intersection is at service level E. So it is
necessary to plan solutions or handling alternatives so that the value of the degree of saturation can reach a value
below 0.75. There are two alternatives that can be applied at the unsignalized intersection of Jalan Raya Kaliabang.
And the safest alternative to apply is the second alternative.
