Abstract
Semarang City is one of the cities in Central Java whose development is largely influenced by its function as a port
city since the colonial era. This causes a lot of cultural acculturation that occurs between immigrants and indigenous
people. This mixture also affects the architectural aspects in Semarang. Both in terms of urban planning and design,
to the building style that was widely used at that time.
In terms of urban planning, the arrival of immigrant races also led to changes and developments in Semarang city
planning. The influence of the Dutch was relatively greater on the architectural works produced in Semarang. This
can be seen by the presence of areas such as the Temple Area and the Old City. Kota Lama, different from the Temple
area, its Colonial architectural characteristics are still clearly visible through the buildings and regional
arrangements in one part of the city of Semarang. This makes the Old City as one of the miniatures of the concrete
state of the city of Semarang at that time
